Britney Spears' fiancé, Jason Trawick, has petitioned a court to become the singer's co-conservator, E! News reports. Jamie Spears, the pop star's father, has held legal power over his daughter and her multimillion dollar wealth since February of 2008, not long after the singer went through a prolonged public breakdown.
Trawick was Spears'
from 2008 until previous this year, when he stepped down through the position to focus on their romantic relationship and his plans to open an arts and entertainment division for Famos LLC, a company whose partners include Mick Jagger and Dave Stewart. The couple got engaged in December, on the night of Trawick's 40th birthday.
If Trawick is granted a co-conservatorship, he will only have shared legal power over Spears' wide-ranging well-being - including conclusions regarding food, clothing and medical care - but will not control her finances or her career.
